What We Do
Who does CCC work with?
CCC works with every age that falls under the care of pediatric oncology. Though our website uses the verbiage of children heavily, we are very aware that all pediatric patients are in fact not children. We want to create space and an environment that is suiting for all ages, 0-19.
What is Children Conquering Cancer?
CCC is a 501c (3) public nonprofit, focused on improving the daily lives of pediatric cancer patients and their families. We believe one does not simply conquer cancer by beating the disease, but by how they live their life while in the fight. CCC aims to provide patients and families opportunities to conquer cancer through the strength, spirit, tenacity and creativity each patient exemplifies on a daily basis. Children Conquering Cancer is a platform for patients to create and design their own personal t-shirt; a design that exemplifies their fight, inspiration, hope, struggles, or any other message the patient wants to express through their artwork. We fully believe each patient will positively impact the lives of those who support them by giving each supporter a glimpse into their spirit. We believe that children have the capability to change the lives of every individual who hears their story and sees their artwork on a shirt. With that, it presents the opportunity for others to provide an outpouring of support to that child, lifting their spirits while joining their fight.
How does CCC Work?
Once a family reaches out, we will set up a time to have a call with them or meet in person to hear what the needs of the family are and how we can help. With the parent’s permission, we will start to work with the child to brainstorm and develop an idea for a t-shirt that the child will design. The artwork created by the child is then used to create a unique t-shirt. These shirts, with the unique design, are placed on the website and made available for purchase, with 100% of the net proceeds made available to the family of the child who created the t-shirt. We then start planning to film a documentary of the child and their family, as we believe that there is much to learn and be inspired by the attitude, perspective, fight, love, and realness of their fight. Lastly, we look to put on concerts in the cities where the families are located, creating an opportunity for the community to love their neighbor as their self and to surround the family with love & support. As with the t-shirts, 100% of the net proceeds from the event will go directly back to the family. These funds, first, will be designated to cover the child's out-of-pocket medical expenses. If all medical expenses have been covered, the funds will then be used to enhance that child’s and families quality of life; groceries, food on the go, clothing, gas, parking, temporary housing for the family while they are hospitalized or receiving treatment, etc. We look to meet any and all needs possible with the funds that are raised and made available to the family.
CCC relies heavily on the generosity of YOU, through your donations, purchases of shirts (company and children), time, love, and support. Your donations and company merchandise purchases help to cover front-end and administrative costs, so that we can maximize the funds allocated to each and every child.
How does CCC help the patients?
We strive to go above and beyond, creating partnerships and relationships with individuals and organizations in order to meet the needs that are in our reach for every child who creates with us. Our hope is to be a place that every child gets to be a child when they create with us and that the basis of our time is centered around having fun and play. We will continue to innovate and grow so that we are best suited to serve the needs of each child.
